Carolina’s Golf Association

Click above for a piece from the CGA educating golfers on a number of bermudagrass winterkill cases in the Carolinas.  There has been a trend in the last 15 years for southeast US golf courses to convert greens from bentgrass to bermudagrass. This trend continues to creep North into questionable areas, where the Bermuda can’t tolerate the colder winters like bentgrass is able to. There are many who thought this day would eventually come.  Of course, this past winter was on the extreme side in terms of temperatures.  The Myrtle Beach area was particularly hit hard from what I’ve heard.
