My favorite tree on the golf course, a cherry on the 4th hole, just started flowering. Unfortunately tomorrow's weather won't be kind to it. I always wished more members were around when this tree flowers to appreciate it.
This is a small area on the ninth fairway impacted by Take-all patch, a turfgrass fungus. We've been treating many low lying areas aggressively and by the time the course opens, this will be a distant memory. We've been scouting for this disease since late winter to be sure we stay ahead of it. The high volume of rain this winter, in addition to the warmer than normal temperatures, created an ideal environment for this fungus.
You can see the progress on the rock curb and sitting wall at the croquet lawns. This is going to be a nice addition to lawns 2 and 3.
