Every spring, we rent a large asphalt roller and roll all the greens 2 directions. This heavy equipment helps us get the greens smoothed back out after aerification and a couple months worth of freeze/thaw action. Again, the heeling of greens from aerification is dependent on air and soil temperatures (it is 28 degrees as I write this). The light weight rollers we use through the season aren't heavy enough to smooth out the greens. It would take multiple rollings to get them where we want to be.
