Chad took this photo of a deer standing behind a neighboring driveway near the 14th/15th hole. After being in Highlands since 2000, I don't think I saw my first deer (in Highlands) until 2005. They are becoming seen much more frequently and definitely around the golf course more, which is a good thing. Why they've become more frequent is a mystery to me. As you leave Highlands and go to areas off the mountain like Blue Valley or Franklin, deer populations are much more abundant.
