Even in the winter, grass isn't immune to fungal pathogens. This morning, we are making the first of two preventative snow mold fungicide applications to greens and tees. In addition, we will hit low lying fairway areas that are prone to this fungus. Despite the name, snow is not a requirement for this fungus. The second application is made sometime in February, depending on the weather we are having at the time. Damp, cool conditions favor disease development.
