Irrigation

This is pretty interesting...you can see the broken irrigation line on #6.  The hole in the rock is where this was blasted to make way for the irrigation line.  The pipe split length wise after rubbing on that rock for the last 30 plus years.  Before we make the repair, we will be sure to hammer/chisel more rock away as well as put a rubber mat under the pipe.  With varying pressure, irrigation pipe can shift and expand ever so slightly.  With the amount of erosion that occurred after the break, will make this an expensive and labor intensive repair.  We will need to bring in sod from an outside source.  In my time at HCC, this is one of the worst breaks I've seen.  We lost a good bit of the hillside and will need to cave in all the undermined areas in order to compact the fill.  In terms of the area impacted, it is pretty large.
