Bear vs. Car

Highlands might not be a high crime area, but that doesn't mean a bear won't attempt to break into your vehicle.  Recently, in Sapphire, a bear broke into the Honda and destroyed the interior.  This is common- it actually happens a couple times a year.  A bear has a superior sense of smell and if it smells then scent of food, it will scratch and paw at a car door until it is lucky enough to have it open.  Once inside (particularly if the door shuts trapping the bear) it will try to get out, often at the expense of the car's interior.  If you do leave your vehicles parked outside, it is smart to lock the doors.  It sounds funny, but it's true!  This car was a total loss according to the owner's insurance company.
