Golf Digest- How does ANGC look in the summer?

The above link will take you to golfdigest.com and a recent story they did on Augusta National.  After the Masters is over, ANGC shuts down and goes into project mode!  It's a lot like Highlands CC in the winter.  Maintenance takes a back seat to improvement projects.  This is interesting if you haven't been exposed to summers in Augusta.  Naturally, the perennial ryegrass overseed checks out and the Bermudagrass comes back in full force.  However, think about the wear and tear of having 40,000 people a day on the grounds!  In short, there is a lot of resodding that needs done to prepare the Bermuda turf for overseeding the following September.  These guys are the best at it and have the process down.  It was an honor to be involved in the program in the year 2000, when I was employed by Augusta National.
