
A newer trend in the golf industry is fairway rolling. You can see below, there a separate models for this purpose- these rollers are a lot larger than a greens roller. Overall, it is still an uncommon practice and one that will only take hold at those upper tier Clubs willing to put forth the resources. You can see the poll above where 6% of those who answered the question are rolling fairways. I would venture to guess that number is even high. Most superintendents who do this, focus on landing areas and not necessarily rolling all of a fairway. It's another tool to help firm up fairways and create more ball roll.
