Gopher damage caused by tunneling is something that extends beyond 'Caddyshack!' This is not Highlands CC, rather a social media post by another superintendent. We deal with our share of moles, but fortunately I've not had to deal with anything like this.
Bushwood CC's assistant superintendent, Carl Spackler, responded to the superintendent after he gave him instructions to "kill all the gophers on the course:" "If I kill all the gophers on the course, they're going to lock me up and throw away the key!" It was varmits like this that led to extreme tactics Spackler used to rid the course of gophers, like C4 modeled to look like rabbits or other friends of the gopher.
