Ross Design

 
In a climate and region like Highlands, it's easy to assume that trees were an integral part of the course from day 1.  This photo of #5 suggests otherwise.  It's my understanding that this area was once an apple orchard, aka Apple Hill.  When those apple trees were removed to make way for the golf course, it left a fairly large void.  I estimate the White Pines between 5/6 were planted in the late 1940's or early 1950's.
