Although the golf course will have a "soft opening" tomorrow, we still have quite a bit of work remaining on the course. Looking into next week, our main goal will be to complete putting pine straw in the beds around the course. In addition, during the next 2 weeks, we will:
1. edge all irrigation heads and 'armor-all' them.
2. edge all yardage markers.
3. there are many areas on the course where stone curbing needs to be repaired.
4. there are many landscape areas we will be enhancing with additional perennials.
5. mulch walkways on the golf course.
6. assess the irrigation system to be sure all sprinkler heads are working and spinning properly.
7. we have a small paving project on #10 and also asphalt patching in the maintenance building parking lot.
8. mulch around all building on campus.
9. clean major debris out of creeks and water on the course.
10. continued bunker work and sand compacting.
11. Install conduit for telephone and electric at the Hudson House.
This gives you an idea of the details that remain before we can call the course, "ready for the season." On top of this, we have to balance in the daily mowing which consumes a lot of labor. In 2 weeks, weather permitting, we will be well on our way and ready for a great season.
