Every March, we stock the ponds on the golf course with Rainbow Trout. Today happened to be the day! Over 3,000 fish were delivered to the Club with the breakdown:
1,500 in the 10-12" range
1,200 in the 13-14" range
300 in the trophy fish range
Trophy fish are 18-30" fish. Our trout are bred locally in Franklin NC at Tellico Trout Farm. It is one of the prettiest sites in Macon County. Just look at the color of the fish above! Beautiful! Often times, farm raised trout lack the vibrant colors you find on native/wild fish.
