Each year, the State of NC requires us to submit our irrigation water usage. While they aren't concerned with what we are actually using, their concern is how much ability we have to draw down water bodies if pumps ran 24/7. The state monitors the impact all sources of irrigation could have on downstream water bodies. Let's hope this oversight remains at the State level and doesn't become a federal issue as it was going to be under WOTUS (Waters of the US).
