The Highlands CC Agronomy Blog was recently nominated for 'best golf industry blog!' The winner will be announced at the Golf industry show in Orlando, FL this February.
On #6, we cut back a few rhododendron on the 6th hole to expose the creek that meanders through the woods up to the 5th hole. This is going to be a very attractive feature once we enhance the ditch with small boulder; something we will be doing this winter.
With the golf course aerified wall to wall, we started verticutting fairways today. This brings and good bit of material up to the surface. We will "drag" the fairways when this material if dry, which breaks it up, returning the good soil and sand to the surface. The remainder is blown and swept. This will prepare fairways for sand topdressing after the new year.
