Evening Storm

Last night, a storm brought us 0.25" of rain (1/4"). It came rather quickly but like I say, at this point, we will take whatever we can get!  As with the last couple nights, the strong winds gave us some minor damage.  Although no trees downed like Thursday night, we did have smaller limbs, sticks and debris littering the golf course.  This type of clean up effort requires more staff, and we pull crew from the "nonessential" jobs that morning.  This means the greens were not rolled or double cut (we did single cut) this morning as they typically are on Saturdays because those guys were focused on the clean up effort.  Our priority is delivering a clean golf course each day the benefits the majority.  The greens may roll a little slower due to the rain and lack of rolling and double cutting.  These are the types of decisions we make on a daily basis that will impact how the course will play that day.  With a set number of staff, and 8am solid tee times, we have no room for error and have to make sure we can stay ahead of the first group.  Trying to work in and around golf is not only frustrating for the golfers, its extremely frustrating to us because it is very inefficient.  Shutting down mowers and blowers every 5 minutes makes us extremely unproductive.
