#10 and trout

Our irrigation drain valve remains in the open position to pump more water flow in #10 creek for the trout.  Chad and I placed a thermometer in the creek to constantly monitor the water temps.  I was relieved that after last night's rain event (which gave us 0.30" rain), the water temps dropped back to as low as 65*F and then climbed to the low 70's during the heat of the day.  This tells me there is hope if we could get substantial steady rain one day.  The next 2 days will be sunny with highs in the mid 80's followed by 5 days with a 50% chance of thunderstorms.  Again, we are in desperate need of a low pressure system to stall over the area for a few days, not afternoon storms that produce nothing more than runoff.  While the 0.3" rain was better than nothing, it takes 1" or more of steady rain to rewet the ground and irrigate existing plants and trees.
