Landscape Improvements

We've been busy this week catching up on some landscape improvements and cleanup.  I have a new eagle eye helper, Rita.  She is motivated to get out and help make the grounds as beautiful as ever.  Above, the roots of this maple are making it difficult to grow anything below it.  Therefore, two new glazed pots add color to this area.  Below, we found these very unique hanging baskets for the front of the clubhouse and they really help the area look first class.

At the croquet lawns, the Cotoneaster got a haircut that drapes over the wall.  I must admit, when we first directed to plant this I was not a big fan of it but it does do a nice job of 'softening' the wall.

Below, this Copper Beech tree that lives on one of the south side tunnel banks.  It was planted in 2004 and is a great tree.  It is very slow growing but every year it gets more beautiful.  I thinned the crown a bit to make the tree more efficient and removed some lower limbs.  One day, this will be the most grand tree in Highlands.
