You probably heard me mention PoaCure a time or 2 by now. The developer of the product and Clemson Turfgrass Science Professor who is overseeing the trial, is making a site visit next Thursday. Therefore, I painted White dots to mark my plots. They are on 3 green, 7 collar and approach and 11 collar. My goal was to experiment on the different types of surfaces that we have at Highlands CC. Today marked the 4th and final application of PoaCure for the Spring season. Summer applications are not made and the program is picked up in the fall with an additional 3 applications. After just 3 applications, it's obvious that some biotypes of Poa annua are being impacted. They yellowing of the foliage shows that occurrence. This is really promising stuff!
Below, 4 tiny white dots mark the corners of the trial.
Finally, this below is why we have the best damn equipment tech in Paul Dalton. Recently, I was in need of an apparatus to carry a fertilizer spreader because it didn't fit in the bed of my maintenance vehicle. They sell things like this for a healthy number. Paul designed and fabricated his own. There are obviously lots of folks who study and work hard to delvelop the talent and ability to build things like that. There are others who it comes naturally to, as a God-given talent. Paul was certainly blessed in that area and the club is the benefactor.
