Interesting...

I've spent the last 2 days with my friend and colleague, Carolina's Golf Association executive director, Jack Nance. He told me this fact that shows the impact the economy had on club memberships across the state: Pre 2000 there were 192,000 golfers in the Carolinas with (GHIN) handicaps. Since 9-11-2001, that number has been on a downward trend and bottomed out at 142,000. It has recovered slightly to 148,000 where it remains steady. Perhaps this is the new normal?
