Thursday Updates Continued

After the drill and fill team finished the practice facility tee, we made our way around the course.  Low lying areas like the right side of 6 fairway, 7 approach, and the right side of 12 fairway were "drilled and filled" to help incorporate more sand deep into the soil profile.  By "filling" with a very coarse angular sand, it allows for better water movement through the soil, improving drainage and increasing firmness.  This process, consistently done overtime can offer great improvement in these type locations.  Below is #7 approach completed.

Work also continued on the new croquet court this afternoon.  This morning we added gravel to the road that Chad graded in yesterday morning.  This afternoon they were able to continue removing debris from the structure, while also removing most of the trees and shrubs that surrounded the home.  The picture below offers a neat view as to how the project is progressing.

Two pictures taken closer, shows the amount of material being removed from the basement.  Also you can see where the trees were cut in front offering a great view of swan lake.

Lastly is just another shot from late this afternoon looking back towards #17 and #18.  You can see in the distance, we were able to finish up topdressing all tees and approaches this afternoon as well.  It is amazing what can be accomplished when it quits raining for a day!  Tomorrow the weather looks to improve once again with temperatures possibly reaching into the 50's around mid day.
