This week's forecast is calling for rain yet again through the first of the week. Although there is only a 50% chance today, it is already raining this morning in Highlands. Temperatures will stay relatively cool into Thursday and then warm slightly, reaching into the 60's over the Christmas Holiday. Hopefully the rain will move through early and make for a nice dry, warm, holiday weekend.
On the golf course this week we will be continuing to work on our bunker project. While one crew is preparing and shaping the bunker lip or edge, the next is directly behind laying sod to cover it. This is because preparing the edge can loosen the soil slightly. If that edge was left exposed, we would risk the potential for dirt and debris to fall or be washed into the bunker. Ultimately, this would cause the drainage system to not work as effectively. After the edge is sodded, Chad and Gary are right behind hauling sand to each bunker with the ty-crop. After Christmas we will spread the sand and finish up with a few final touches. Meanwhile, Jerry Dalton is working his way around the course verticutting fairways as mentioned in a post last week. Please continue to check back with us through the week for any project updates!
