Above and below are footer photos, completed. In total, we poured 101 cubic yards of concrete total! That is 12 full, cement trucks. We were slightly over our concrete estimate because when digging the footers, we hit a lot of soft soil and per the recommendation of our soil engineer, we had to dig deeper to hit the firm, native soil. This means the footer becomes larger and the wall will be slightly taller. The soils engineer is a critical part of this project. With the amount of grade change, it is critical the soil is adequately compacted to eliminate the chance of settling in the future.
