With the season slowly winding down, there are a few changes coming to our agronomic plan:
The Height of Cut will increase from .120" to .135" on greens on October 20th. The reason for this is the reduction in sunlight they receive. If I were to continue being aggressive, we would experience major thinning. Unfortunately, this is one of those HCC facts of life. We lack sunlight on our greens throughout most of the year and especially in the fall with low sun angles. More leaf surface area mean more opportunity for the grass to photosynthesize and heal going into winter. Healthy fall turf means healthy spring turf. What we do this time of year will impact how good greens are next season!
As you know, tees were aerified today and approaches will be aerified the last week of October 26th-28th. It is necessary to get this done before our bunker renovation starts on November 2nd. All labor we be required for that project.
Greens will be DryJected on November 4th and aerified on November 9th.
