Tuesday

 
This winter will bring a lot of tree work but much will go unnoticed.  Today I started marking trees so the green committee has an idea of what I will be working on.  There are many trees that are dying/damaged or lightening struck that will come down for safety.  I marked these trees with white and yellow ribbon.  The grove to the right of #6 is the primary focus because it has some very poor condition white pines.  Just look at these photographs! 
 
 
 
 
Below, #12 drainage project is complete less the sod for the rough.  Since we are so close to November, I am going to wait a few weeks on sod.  Unfortunately there isn't a local source for sod and delivery of just a pallet is not worth paying the freight bill.
 


Below, you can the quantity of organic material (or plugs) removed from tees yesterday during aerification.  The continual aerification helps the tees move water and nutrient through the rootzone.
