Each year as our fine fescue matures, it gets more and more beautiful. Fescue like this does best in areas that receive minimal inputs. That means reduced fertilizers and most importantly, reduced irrigation. The more lush these areas stay, the turf stays in a more vegetative growth state. It never acheives the nice brown seedhead you see above.
