After a long patient wait, our wildflowers in front of the #12 Jones tee are really beginning to put on a show, just in time for the Forth of July! Seeing these blooms makes that cleanup project well worth it! The flowers you see now are annuals. It is interesting to me to see these areas evolve. In year 2, we are seeing more of the perennials like sunflowers and black-eyed susans. This excites me to see how they change in the future. As I said before, we do add additional annuals to these areas to maintain the diversity. They should however, re-seed themselves year after year. You can tell there are some dominant species in the mix that take over and out compete the other flowers.
