Weekly Update

This weeks forecast is calling for extremely warm temperatures with highs reaching into the mid 80's.  There is a slight chance of rain on Tuesday, along with a 40-50% chance through the rest of the week.  With such high temperatures, afternoon thundershowers will potentially be a daily occurrence.  Nighttime temperatures will remain warm as well dropping only into the mid 60's most nights, while some hardly dipping below 70.

With the Highlands school out for the summer our staff will be receiving some extra hands for the next few months.  Not only is it a great opportunity to hire locally, but it also benefits us in being able to have help during our busiest few months of the season!  On the golf course this week we will be continuing our verticutting program on Tuesday and Thursday.  Tuesday afternoon we will verticut and mow approaches. Thursday we will verticut tees allowing for them to be mowed the next morning.  As mentioned last week vertical mowing is crucial in the development of upright and aggressive turfgrass growth.  Along with verticutting we will be edging irrigation heads and yardages.  Lastly, with temperatures climbing and a slight breeze a few staff members will be hand-watering daily if we do not receive any rain.  Please continue to check back with us through the week for any updates!
