It is great to be back to work after a few days off and a great Christmas!  I hope your Christmas was most joyous!
 
Above, tee markers are underway as mentioned in a previous post.
 
 
Above, we are doing some more topdressing of fairways.  You can see more sand is needed on the 5th hole.  My hope is this sand will not only firm the surface but upset the earthworm population as well.  I believe our commitment to fairway topdressing has really cut back on earthworms over the last 10 years.  However, we have a ways to go.
 
 
Above is an example of a white pine we recently removed next to #5 tee.  You can see the entire back side of the tree is rotten.  It is especially important we stay on top of these trees as they begin to die.  Many of the White Pines on the property are 80 plus years old.  The life expectancy of a white pine is rarely over 100 years.  We certainly don't want defer tree maintenance later on as it will hit us all at once.
 
 
The stump grinding crew is continuing to hide the evidence!
