The picture above is a bentgrass tee (#5 ladies tee) with Poa annua growing throughout. However, the Poa is looking a little rough. It is thinning and chlorotic (yellow in plant terms) looking. The reason is predominantly the response of a growth regulator, Cutless, we are spraying. On 14 day intervals we spray a combination of products. Cutless has a great effect on the Poa compared to the bentgrass. The result is weakened Poa where the bentgrass is given the competitive advantage, allowing it to creep over the Poa. We spray the same product on greens at a much lower rate. Over time, the product can reduce poa populations by 80-90%.
