Tuesday

As you start the first hole, you have seen this sign countless times.  I was recently asked about it.  As you know, golf courses periodically apply pesticides for a variety of reasons.  Insects, fungal diseases and weeds all warrant the use of the occasional pesticide.  We keep records of every single application and the records going back 3 years.  These records are available to anyone who asks for them.  We record everything for the time of application, weather conditions during the application to the products used and rates.  If you ever have any comments or questions regarding why we spray or apply what we do, please call me.

The grove above the 3rd hole is much cleaner this year.  We have done a nice job removing any and all vegetation (except ferns) that has sprouted this spring.

When filling divots on fairways, please ensure the sand is level.  This helps save our mowers by not allowing sand to go through the reels.  Sand will dull a reel very fast.  This picture shows a very poor job of a golfer filling a divot.  On top of that, they did not replace the divot.
