The mirror was replaced on HWY 106 as you turn off of Arnold Road. Please use extreme caution at this dangerous intersection. The new mirror allows for better visibility but the intersection can still be very dangerous.
The initial application of the 2 chemicals (Xonerate and Velocity) did not effect the bentgrass nor the Poa annua. Today, I made a second application. In the next week I will be curious to see if the Poa takes a hit or if the bentgrass is yellowed or turned off color. Both of these chemicals are labeled to selectively remove Poa annua from Creeping bentgrass. However, they are only labeled for fairway height of cut; not greens! As a Superintendent, it is extremely important to follow the label use instructions. There is good reason why these 2 are not labeled for greens since extreme injury can occur to the desired bentgrass. However, experimenting with small areas that can be resodded may lead to new ideas and uses.
4 yards of concrete were delivered this morning at 7am. This allowed us to pour a concrete pad next to the cart barn to allow Pat to work on member carts. This is why you have a great grounds crew...guys not afraid to accomplish any task and talented in a variety of areas! Special thanks to Kevin Earp and Paul Dalton for their hard work and knowledge!
