July 31st was another greens venting event for us. This time, we used 1/4" tines and pulled a plug. By removing the plug and not filling the holes with sand, the surrounding turf expands to fill the voids. This "swelling" effect creates more air space and reduces compaction on the entire surface. These "lite aerifications" are much needed to get us to November when we can really do a big aerification. Thank you for you patience!
