Deer on #6

This family of deer were enjoying a breakfast of acorns next to the 6th green this morning.  This is the time of year that Oak trees start dropping acorns on the ground.  Greens like the practice green and #6 are often covered in acorns every morning.  When that happens, it's important for the greens mowers do a thorough job blowing the green clean prior to mowing.  If they don't, acorns can get caught in the mowers and drag across the green, leaving a streak in the turf.  So far this year, we wondered why #6 green didn't have many acorns on it like years past.  Apparently the deer have been keeping the putting green clean for us.  These deer were standing on the green eating acorns when Chad first spotted them this morning!
