The fairway bunker on #1 presented a unique challenge. After roughing in the bunker, a spring head started filling the bunker with water. Right now, the bunker floor is a mud hole. We are going to install a complex network of drainage, over and above what is traditionally placed in bunker. We want to keep all this water below ground and not surfacing.
On the 1st hole, the contractor is still roughing in the bunker shape by the green. Off in the distance, on #3, you can see sprinkler heads running where we are still testing the system. After today, we will drain the system again, in anticipation of more cold weather.
Above, the firewood room in the Clubhouse is busting at the seams. In another week, we'll have the Hudson House loaded up as well, ready for the 2023 season. All firewood comes from the golf course and is split by the maintenance team.
