Every fall, all department heads at the Club submit their needs for capital equipment. That list is thoroughly vetted in accounting and decisions are made as to what the priorities are. This year, one of our capital purchases in the Golf Course Maintenance department was this wheel balancer and tire changer. Over the course of a year, we change a lot of tire on everything from mowers to carts and large tires on tractors. This equipment will allow Matthew and Darren the ability to do that in-house, safely and with ease and convenience. Prior to this, we used a manual tire changer and didn't have a wheel balancer. Changing the back tires on a tractor took as many as 3 people and enough force to hurt your back just watching it. Many times, Matthew would take the wheels and tires to shop in Franklin to have the tires put on the rims and then balanced. From now on, we have the equipment to do that right here. Many members already do, but never hesitate to bring your vehicle by the shop if you need air in your tires or think you have a nail in a tire. We'll be happy to check that for you and plug the tire if needed. We are happy to help with minor things like that!
