After a couple days of rain that brought us over 3" of precipitation, we were finally able to get back out on the golf course this morning. It is very wet so we chose to work on some low impact projects that don't involve a lot of heavy equipment. Granted, we have our fair share of winter "inside work" to do but we'll have plenty of days ahead of us to get that knocked out. These are projects like making new tee markers and sanding benches and other outdoor furniture.
Our curbing program continues as time permits and today, we started on the small area by the 7th green.
On #11, we are doing more aggressive cutting of rhododendron to expose the view of the creek from the tee. This requires us cutting up to 10 feet back on the far side of the creek. The photo below is the present look from #11 tee. We still have some more work to do but you can get a feel for what we are doing.
Finally, today the pillars look a little more festive! The Junior class at the Highlands School has an annual fundraiser that generate money for their annual prom. Ever since I learned of this, we purchase 10 wreaths each year that are hung on the pillars at the club's residential entrances like Cobb Road and Hummingbird Lane.
