Monday

Finally, a day with out rain! The forecast looks excellent and by the end of the week, we will be back in excellent condition.  Today, greens and approaches are receiving their routine sand topdressing application in addition to a potassium and calcium (Gypsum) fertilizer. Fairways may get a little hairy this week because we are going to let them dry out prior to mowing them again.  It takes a lot patience to hold back because as a Superintendent, I like the instant gratification that comes with getting things like this accomplished.  However, it's not worth risking any damage after the endless amount of rain we've had the past couple weeks.  Our annual total has not topped 78" year-to-date!  By tomorrow, we hope to have carts back out on several fairways and also hope to have the hitting stations at the practice facility, back on turf.
