This week, we will be treating our putting greens with a nematode control product called Armorex. This is an organic product that consists of horseradish and other mustard seed oils that shows promising results at controlling nematodes, microscopic roundworms that are very destructive due to their feeding on Turfgrass roots. Because of the products contents, it has a very strong odor. If you smell this on the golf course, this is the product your smelling. Once the spray is irrigated into the soil profile of the green, it’s the escaping gasses that are lethal to the nematodes. It is not harmful to people, other than the not so pleasant odor.
