Former Walker Cup Player, Jim Sorenson (President of Momentus Golf) developed a new bunker rake for Superintendents to improve the consistency of sand in the bunkers across the golf course. I recently purchased 6 new rakes that will be used solely by our maintenance team to prepare the bunkers for play each morning. Once these rakes arrive and are put to use, I'll be excited to hear any comments regarding the presentation and feel of the bunker sand. The biggest benefit this rake provides is smoothing the surface of the bunker floor. While these rakes will be used as a maintenance tool, I did purchase 4 of the 'on course' rake versions that will be left next to the bunkers, like we currently have. If they are something the Green Committee likes, we can expand upon them in the future. Keep your eye out for these these new rakes in the next 2 weeks or so.
