Starting this season, we are getting away from the colored tee marker system. For example, the Jones tee will be marked using the tee marker on the far left, with one Highlander Man. The forward (Highlands) tees, will use the tee marker on the far right with 4 logos branded on the end of the tee marker. Ken Mattis will be putting out more information on the subject in the coming weeks. This new system will allow us to better manage the wear and tear on the tees and also take advantage of the new forward tee locations that we'll be building this spring. Every year, we make new tee markers from Rhododendron wood that is harvested on the property. We had branding irons made with the silhouette of the Club's logo. After they irons are heated with a propane torch, the iron is pressed upon the tee marker, that is held in place in a large vice. Branding 72 tee markers plus a handful of spares is not a quick project! However, it's worth the time and effort to have a unique tee marker system.
