Irrigation is being installed on #12 and clipping right along. You can see below how tidy the job site is once the installation is complete. You can hardly tell anything was done.
It is my job, once the irrigation is complete, to shoot yardages from every sprinkler head within 250 yards of the green. Each sprinkler head will have three numbers on it... measuring to the front, middle and back of the green.
Above is a new Toro aerator that I am excited to get out on our fairways. This is a new machine and allows us to aerate large areas relatively quickly and on a tight hole spacing, offering maximum benefit to the turf. While we normally aerate fairways in the fall, this year we will be doming them both in fall and spring. Once one of our two tractors is freed up from other jobs, this piece of equipment will be put to use!
Finally, this is an "off-road" crane that is coming in handy on the golf course. We are thinning out some trees in this wooded area behind the restrooms on #5. This machine is unique and operates like the hook and ladder fire trucks in cities, where the back wheels turn like the front. This allows this crane to get into tight areas. The smaller wheel base is also a big help for the same reason. It's weight is spread out over the tires so that it doesn't do any damage to the turf. Young Tree Service, just recently acquired this piece of equipment primarily for golf course use.
