North Carolina Golf Day

I spent Monday evening and Tuesday in Raleigh for North Carolina Golf Day. As the presidents of the Carolinas GCSA (Golf Course Super Association), I’ve been attending this annual event for the last 10 years. We met with members of our allied professional associations: Carolinas PGA, CMAA, USGA, GCOA (owners association).  This morning we also met with Governor Roy Cooper. It’s a great opportunity for the golf industry to stay proactive on issues for when situations like COVID arise.  Other examples, include years ago we were able to fend off a golf tax that was proposed or 7 years ago when there was significant water restrictions proposed on NC golf courses.  Staying in front of leaders, reminding them of the economic benefits and the importance of golf in the Carolinas is important so those relationships are strong if we get to a time we have a ‘big ask.’
