This afternoon, greens and approaches are receiving another routine sand topdressing that is done on 14-day intervals. In addition, we are using our aerifier, equipped with 1/4” hollow tines to aerate the approaches on #1, #14 and #15. We are following that by seeding a new Bentgrass variety into the turf. I chose these 3 approaches for this experiment to see if it’s possible to increase turf density by introducing newer bentgrasses. Only time will tell. We’re planning to do this 2 or 3 more times this season.
