Wednesday

It’s a beautiful, warm, sunny day in Highlands...the temperature near 55F. The nice weather is short lived with a 90% chance of rain tomorrow.  We are taking full advantage of the day!

On #12, we trenched a 6" deep ditch that will serve as a base to install rock curbing that runs from the top of the hill down to the creek.  This will direct surface water to the stream rather than it settling out in the rough at the start of the fairway.  To fix drainage issues, the first thing that needs to be done is to address sheet flow and water entering a site from another area.

On the left side of #10, we are constantly chasing a spring head that comes from the base of the hillside.  We feel rather confident that we finally got it!

In addition to the left side of the hole, we are also trying to make sense of the hillside springs down in front of the ladies tee.

Drain pipe is being installed into our recently trenched ditches.

Greens were treated today with a fungicide combination.  This is the second application this winter to prevent snow mold development.

Finally, the completed pond bank on #10.  Much improved.

The contractor is racing to install drainage in the new lawn's subgrade tonight.  With a 90% chance of rain tomorrow, it's important to give the water a place to leave.
