Drainage
There is a lot of drainage going in the ground this winter. Today we trenched drain lines on #4, #5, #7 and #9. Tomorrow, we'll move to the back nine, with a few areas on #10 to address.
The key to successful seepage internal drainage is deep ditches; a minimum of 24" down.
Croquet
On the croquet lawn, we are making some adjustments in the field. This one will really give the area some character. We are using rounded edges that will create pockets of beautiful landscaping, rather than one straight line of an upright shrub species.
Other
On #8 behind the green, we eliminated the scrubby cluster of weedy Rhododendrons and Doghobble. With this gone, we'll be able to reslope the area to the creek between #6 and #8, getting rid of the awkward "rock swale" next to the cart path. The entire area will then be grassed.
Another frigid day on the mountain...Club Lake is completely frozen.
