Wednesday

If you play the golf course during these last few weeks, please be realistic in your expectations.  The greens are still rolling fairly well following DryJect aerification.  However, we are limited on how often we can move pin locations because the ground is frozen.  We can't move pins if we can't get the cup changer in the ground.  Bunker sand is also frozen, limiting our ability to rake them daily.  Play has slowed down to just a couple foursomes a day; specifically, there are 5 people on the tee sheet today.  Our priorities are beginning to shift away from maintenance simply because the demand isn't there and the turf isn't growing.  Our time is better spent working on improvement projects so we can continue to enhance your golf course!

This photo proves that a tree's roots are primarily in the top 8" of soil.  This white pine fell on #12 during last week's storm.

For safety reasons and aesthetics, we are replacing the locust wood fence at #9 ladies tee, that prevents a cart or a person falling into the stream below.

While doing some underbrushing on #12, the boys uncovered this find!  I did some research and found that the first Coca-Cola drink offered to the public in a can, was in 1960.  Therefore, based on the top of the can, this must of been from the late 1960's or early 70's??
