I never thought this year that I would say we are in the midst of dry period! Given our rainy climate, we want to take advantage of every dry period we get to push root growth. Roots tend to slough off when the root zone is saturated. Therefore, we only hand-water greens so we place the water precisely where it's needed. The alternative is to run overhead sprinkler heads that saturate everything. Firm, healthy greens are our goal for daily play.
#1 green is just phenomenal given the sunlight it now receives. I've never seen the density of turf on this green as great as it is now!
