Prism

The prism gauge is something we've used for years to monitor our effective height of cut on the various supergrass surfaces.  A mower is set in the shop to a specific height of cut.  This is called bench setting and that number in our case is 0.120".  However, there are a number of other factors that can influence the height of cut.  Two easy examples would be the weight of the machine and the softness of the surfaces.  Using this prism, we are able to see the actual , or effective height of cut at any given time.
