President’s Message
April 16, 2020 |
Dear Carolinas GCSA members,
I hope this note finds you well and in good health. It's hard to believe we are over 6 weeks into this pandemic. Personally, I feel like we are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel, but what I don't know is what life will be like at the end of it. I think returning to the way it was isn't realistic, and I can only imagine we will arrive at the new normal, in gradual stages. It's my hope that you managed to get to this point healthy and without impact to your family and loved ones.
Unfortunately, I know several superintendents that were impacted professionally, by this pandemic. I think about that every day. If you are in a difficult situation professionally, please reach out to a Carolinas GCSA board member in confidence. We'll do our best to help you in this difficult time.
Since we bill membership dues on an anniversary cycle, as opposed to a calendar year cycle, you might be in a tough spot paying membership dues. If that is the case, please reach out to Melissa (msmith@cgcsa.org), who can help you.
Finally, if you need help, both GCSAA and the PGA of America have programs in place to help those impacted by the current crisis. Below is a link to GCSAA's Disaster Relief Fund and a link to the PGA's Golf Emergency Relief Fund. GCSAA members are eligible for this PGA of America program, which goes live later today. Further details regarding eligibility are forthcoming, with applications for the fund being accepted as early as Thursday, April 16, at 2 p.m. EST.
Continue to rely on each other and make your family the number one priority.
Sincerely,
Brian J. Stiehler, CGCS, MG
President, Carolinas GCSA
